Pastor quotes, a vocabulary word, custom verse scheduling, a setup wizard, save-as-PNG, four templates, $99 lifetime pricing — and the verses ship with the plugin so your site doesn't break when someone else's server does.
Free WordPress.org listing. Multi-language support (they have 25+ via their server, we ship 17 with the plugin). Gutenberg block + shortcode.
Modern English translations like NIV, NLT, NKJV, and NASB are copyrighted — they get away with serving them from their own servers; we won't until we license them properly. They've also got 13+ years of trust and reviews. We're new.

DailyBread isn't a 17-year-old plugin shop with thousands of reviews. It's a side project built by Samuel — still in high school — and his dad, who works in WordPress full-time at AIOSEO.
We built it because we wanted a Bible plugin that bundled a verse, a pastor quote, and a vocabulary word in one — and that we could buy once and own forever, instead of paying $30-40/yr to a faceless plugin shop. We priced it for a church on a budget: $5/yr, or $99 once.
You're an early customer. Tell us what's broken — hello@dailybread.pages.dev — and we'll usually ship a fix the same week.
No. The verses, quotes, and words all ship inside the plugin — no external API call, no HTTP request to a third-party server on every page load. The plugin reads a local data file in <1ms and renders. Most other Bible plugins phone home to their author's server every time someone loads your page.
Nothing. DailyBread doesn't depend on our server to display today's verse — the content lives inside the plugin you download. Even if dailybread.pages.dev disappeared tomorrow, every site running DailyBread would keep working.
Those translations are copyrighted by their publishers (Biblica, Tyndale, Thomas Nelson). Plugins that serve them are usually doing it without a proper distribution license. We'd rather wait until we can do it the right way than risk a takedown for our customers' sites. In the meantime, we ship 19 public-domain translations across 17 languages — including the KJV, ESV (via the free ESV API), WEB, ASV, Reina-Valera, Luther, the Vulgate, and more.
No. The Free version is a downloadable zip — install, activate, you're done. License keys only exist for Pro and Premium customers.
Yes. Pick any tier and you can upgrade at any time on your account dashboard. The Lifetime $99 option is the same Premium tier — you just pay once instead of $5/yr.
Yes. Because the verse rotates daily, weekly, or monthly (not per-request), it caches normally. There's no JavaScript fetch on the front end and no cache-busting parameter.
Within 14 days of purchase, email us and we'll refund you. We'd rather you be happy than locked in.
No usage tracking, no analytics, no phone-home. The only network call the plugin ever makes is to the ESV API — and only if you've entered an ESV API key and selected ESV as your translation.
